Our Role

Netgen was responsible for the holistic redesign, the UX/UI design and the technical realisation of the SPECCHIO HUB platform. This included, in particular, the development of a multilingual content structure, the redesign of the user guidance and navigation, a semantic and intuitive optimisation of the wording (‘MyHub’), the simplification of the registration process and the implementation of improved filter functions. The project was implemented with a modular page structure and consistently responsive for all devices, supplemented by a visual guidance system to clearly distinguish study categories: UX concept, UI design, navigation, multilingualism, CMS implementation, filter optimisation, responsive design

Challenge

The original SPECCHIO HUB platform was outdated and difficult to access in terms of user guidance: it existed exclusively in French, which severely limited its reach.

The registration process was complex and a major hurdle, especially for less tech-savvy people.

In addition, the content lacked a clear structure, was not consistently optimised for mobile devices and lacked visual uniformity in design – aspects that are indispensable for digital healthcare offerings today.

Our Solution

To make SPECCHIO HUB a modern and user-friendly platform, Netgen implemented a comprehensive range of measures:

Multilingualism & Accessibility:

The introduction of multilingualism (German, English and French) ensures that clinical studies and content can be understood and used by a wider user group. This significantly increases accessibility for local experts as well as for international interested parties and researchers.

Optimised UX & navigation:

A completely revised navigation and sub-navigation structure has significantly improved orientation on the platform. The content was clearly structured and the user guidance was consistently aligned with the needs of the target groups (participants, researchers and healthcare institutions). An intuitive, comprehensible wording (‘MyHub’ instead of ‘Connexion’) and a greatly simplified registration process make it easier to use, even for less tech-savvy users.

UI redesign & colour coding system:

Netgen developed a modular, responsive UI design that works optimally on both desktop and mobile. A consistent colour coding system was introduced that visually clearly differentiates the individual study categories from each other. This ensures quick orientation and recognition while increasing the visual quality and professionalism of the platform.

Modularity & scalability:

A modular page structure allows for flexible scaling of the platform. New content, additional studies or future features can be easily integrated without affecting the existing layout. This considerably simplifies the long-term maintenance and further development of the platform.

Responsive & Mobile First:

The consistent application of the mobile-first approach – especially for online forms – guarantees unrestricted usability and a high-quality user experience on all end devices, from smartphones to desktop computers. This significantly contributes to higher user satisfaction and an increased interaction rate.

This integrated solution has transformed SPECCHIO HUB into a modern, user-centred healthcare platform that meets the needs of healthcare professionals, study participants and researchers alike.
