Challenge

The original website was outdated, not mobile-friendly, and served more as an informational archive than a holistic digital medium.

Solution

All editorial articles published in the UFA-Revue print edition are now also prepared as online articles for the digital platform. They are enriched by the editorial team with additional information, images, graphics, and videos. Informative fact sheets, a large film archive, an events calendar featuring the most important agricultural industry events, a recipe collection, contests, and reader offers provide a comprehensive digital experience. The fresh look of the website also serves as a suitable platform for advertisers to display targeted display ads.

Information on Smartphones

"Thanks to the new design, the industry information is presented in a more generous and reader-friendly way," explains Markus Röösli, Publishing and Editorial Director of UFA-Revue. It was particularly important for the development that the platform's content can be read flawlessly on smartphones. "Almost every second visitor uses our website with a mobile device. We wanted to accommodate this fact and have made the new digital platform mobile-friendly," adds Fabienne Elmer, UFA-Revue employee and project manager of the UFA-Revue digital platform.

The navigation structure has also been greatly simplified. Icons symbolize the section in which the user is located, such as agricultural machinery, ensuring good user guidance.

Reaching a Younger Audience

The UFA-Revue newsletter is also new. The visually and content-wise revised newsletter is now sent out twice a week. Every Tuesday and Friday, the over 13,000 recipients of the newsletter receive important industry-related content about agriculture.

With this, UFA-Revue aims to increasingly attract younger farmers. Further expansion steps, particularly in terms of video content, are planned.
