Netgen organized the first gathering of Croatian eZ Publish developers at “Zlatni Medo”, pub in Zagreb, Croatia. We were thrilled to host this event because we got the chance to get back in touch with some old friends as well as to meet some new ones. People came from Varaždin and Osijek so the event was countrywide :)
But this was not just developers meeting, there were also designers & system level guys and girls present, who previously had or still have some connection to eZ Publish projects. We shared our experiences, drank some beer and generally had a good time as witnessed by the picture below.
Most discussions went on about the future of eZ Publish and eZ Community and were often interrupted with Android vs. iPhone clan wars, with @emodric and @vjeran leading as the generals :) Some of us shared our ideas of what could be done with the new features eZ Publish will be presenting in version 4.5, like the REST API. One topic in particular, though unrelated to eZ Publish, had a positive effect on us here at Netgen. For past couple of months we’re thinking about switching from SVN to GIT, and talking about (dis)advantages of different source control systems made us realize that the switch is something we should do sooner, rather than later.
At the end, we must say that the meet-up was spot on and should definitely be repeated. Next time though, we will probably do it as a workshop oriented event to share our knowledge and to see some cool ez stuff in action. If you want to be informed about our next meeting, drop us an email at [email protected], all are welcome!
You can read couple of insights from the meet on Twitter.
